The short version
We do not track you. This website has no analytics, no advertising tools, no social media pixels and no cookies. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us — for example when you write to us.
Who is responsible
Lusembo Initiative Limited, a community-focused organisation registered in Uganda, operating in Kampala, Kyotera District and other communities in Uganda.

What we collect, and when
When you just read the site: nothing that identifies you personally is collected by us. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs — your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type — which are used to keep the server running and secure. This is normal for any website.
When you use the contact form: we receive the name, email address, the subject you selected and the message you wrote. It arrives as an email in our mailbox at Simply.com, and we use it to answer you, and nothing else. To stop automated spam, the form keeps a one-way coded version of your IP address for up to an hour. It cannot be turned back into your address and is never stored with your message.
When you donate: the donation function is not active yet. When it is, payments will be handled by a payment provider, and card details will go directly to them. We will never see or store your card number. We will name the provider on this page before donations open.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all.
It does store two small technical values in your browser’s session storage: one that remembers you have already seen the opening animation, and one that remembers you closed the donation bar at the bottom of the screen. They contain no personal information, they are not sent anywhere, and they disappear when you close the tab.
Fonts and other services we load
The typefaces on this site are stored on our own server, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font service. No third-party service is loaded on this site.
The site does link out to other websites — our Rotary partners, the Kyebe project site and news articles. Once you click through, you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
How long we keep things
- Messages you send us: kept as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and then deleted.
- Server logs: kept for a short period by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
Where your information is held
The website and its email are hosted by Simply.com, whose servers are in Denmark, within the European Union.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to info@lusemboinitiative.org and we will answer as quickly as we can.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you these rights, and you may complain to your national data protection authority — in Denmark, that is Datatilsynet. If you are in Uganda, the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 applies, and the supervisory body is the Personal Data Protection Office.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this page
We will update this page whenever something changes — in particular when the donation function opens. The date below always shows when it was last changed.
